The azaleas are in full bloom in the gardens: their colours a brilliant range of reds and pinks. And our resident Mallard duck, which has been nesting next to the hotel, has today hatched her ten ducklings. Soon after she led them to the pond in the hotel garden, although they did need some help navigating the path there! The pond itself is teeming with life including tadpoles and various types of pond skaters. The ducklings have chosen a lovely day to make their entrance. The weather has recently warmed up, the skies are clear and the fells ringing the Borrowdale Valley look stunning.
